weird things about me

i have a specific way of applying sunblock. (or, as I still tend to say it, suntan lotion. hell, i'm old enough to remember putting on baby OIL before going into the sun.)

but in the interests of less waste, my method of applying sunblock avoids getting the lotion on the palms of my hands. (I mean, if I use my palms to apply all the sunblock, then my palms will have nearly half the amount of sunblock that's applied, right? They're not even exposed to sun that much.) So I always focus sunblock where the lines are gonna be~ on my upper arms where the t-shirts end (farmer's tan) and on my feet where the sandals are. Among other places. But I use my lower arms to spread the sunblock on my upper arms, and I use my ankles to spread the sunblock on my feet and lower legs. There are still a few places on the body that are hard to reach without your palms (Try it, you'll see what I mean.) For the most part though, I've managed minimal wastage of sunblock!

Is this the most neurotic post you've ever seen or the most inane? :)

I'm also doing the big hat and Asian umbrella thing. It's getting pretty common at home in California. At my school on the East Coast though, I've only seen one other person on campus do the sun-umbrella thing. (parasol... as opposed to paraguas! haha) So yeah... I stand out as kinda weird.

Then again, people consistently put my age as ten years younger. So I can get used to being kind of weird. :)

Protect your skin peoples!
