tiny pet peeve

Okay.... so this goes a little into the "Debbie is OCD/crazy" category.

I don't like to write in the first or second page of my notebooks. Sometimes there is a good reason, like the yellow notepads or legal pads, which don't have a front cover, sometimes the first few pages get worn off. So I don't write on the first few pages in order to protect the ones behind them. As for my notebooks WITH covers, well, who knows if I want to write something Important on the first page someday? Maybe a contents page. Maybe my information. Something. So I leave a page there.

Well, sometimes people take my notebooks, flip to the first page, and start writing on it, and then tear that page out! Why do people do this?!? Sigh. I accept that I am slightly crazy, so I account for this by leaving EXTRA pages. But today someone used not one, but TWO of my extra pages in front, so all of my protective pages are gone. Why can't they write in the back pages and tear from there??

Do you know what I've done (which I've obviously forgotten to do here). I used to have a few blank pages, and on all of those blank pages I'd WRITE MY NAME on them in the corner, then people are less likely (but only less likely) to use them and tear out, because apparently having my name there indicates that the page is already serving a function. It helped.

I just grit my teeth because it's not other people's problem that I have issues with how my note pages are and should be. grrrrrrr.
