wish list

so this is probably a month too late. or a couple of months early. or not, since i don't believe in punctuality or special occassion gift giving. but what the heck. sharing it with you all anyway.

reference: the last time I did something like this, it's not dissimilar.

First, I wish you well. Having a content social circle who is well, is the best gift I could have, since it allows me to be selfish and focused on myself. I know for several of you that this might be beyond your current abilities right now. I wish that I had this magic wand to solve all the problems. Know that I love you in good times and in bad times, and that I hope to be worthy of being your loved one in these challenging times. I love you and I'm so grateful you are in my life.

I look forward to the future when we all can look back and be impressed with all of these mountains that we have climbed.

Other than that...

I wish for empathy, patience, understanding, trust, listening skills. Not just for myself but for everyone. For people to understand that conflicting viewpoints can be valid, simultaneously. To accept that conflicting desires is a thing. That "perfection" is not achievable, and pursuit of perfection is fine, as long as you don't break if perfection can't be attained. To love imperfections, and to love flaws, because there is so much to value in our flaws.

Somewhat more practical:

Gifts for me include listening to me wax philosophical about my current passions. Or, even better, listen to the 20 minute introduction call and then tell me about it.

Oh, better than that: Do an act of random kindness (or several), and tell me about it. I've done a few this week, maybe I should start tracking so they can count towards my number this year (month) (day). (It's not gonna be a day. I declare this year lasting as long as I decide it lasts.)

Also acceptable gift: A nice fat letter about you and your loves. These are the best.

What else? I will also accept a Time-Turner, or Evie's ability to freeze time (including the caveat that I don't age during that time freeze. not that I plan to abuse this power or anything. but just in case I do.)

a good housecleaning so that I can entertain in good conscience.
will also accept a baby sitter so that i tidy up the remains of my unpacking.

back to practical. secondhand preferred for most:

last but not least, repeating the same reminder
This is not a hint! Since I don't often buy presents for others' special occasions, preferring to give something whenever I think of it without regard for the date. So I wouldn't ask you to do anything I wouldn't naturally do. In addition, if any of you have old or used versions of above, I'd be happy with those too! In fact. Happier.

i'm happy. i hope you are, too.
